Electron Microscopic studies on the Rise and Fall of Attached Ureaplasma urealyticum to Human Leukemia Cells

Abstract
The rise and fall of adhered Ureaplsma urealyticum to human leukemia cell was investigated with the cultural method and electron microscopic method. The results obtained in this study are summerized as follows. U. urealyticum maximally adhered to human leukemia cell 8 hours after inoculation. The adhered U. Urealyticum to the cell surface phagocytized by human leukemia cell within 24 hours after inoculation. Many U. urealyticum appeared in vacuoles within the cell. The phagocytized U. urealyticum was killed and digested by the cell. U. urealyticum couldn¢¥t replicated in human leukemia cell. On the other hand, U. urealyticum was able to multiplicate temporarily in the culture supernatant of human leukemia cell.
